More Than Just Virus Patrol

Norton 360 Premium is an all-in-one security suite that protects devices against malware and online privacy risks, aimed at families and small offices. It bundles real-time malware detection using machine learning, an encrypted VPN connection for public Wi-Fi, and 100GB PC cloud backup to protect files from hardware failure or ransomware. These components address device compromise, data loss, and privacy exposure for multi-device households.

Detection That Watches Behavior Too

Detection combines signature and behavior-based methods by using artificial intelligence and machine learning for real-time threat protection, which the developer promotes for blocking viruses, spyware, and ransomware. The suite also pairs a smart firewall with behavioral detection, so it covers file-based threats and suspicious program activity rather than relying on signatures alone.

Privacy Tools Under One Roof

Privacy tools supplement the protection model through an included VPN and dark web monitoring for exposed personal data in monitored sources. The presence of an integrated password manager and VPN indicates the product addresses both connection privacy and credential exposure in a single interface, though specific feature availability can vary by device or platform.

Protection Has a Footprint

Expect measurable resource use on some systems since user reception notes noticeable system resource usage during protection activities. The app supports centralized setup across up to ten devices, and configuration options include parental controls and a separate VPN, allowing administrators to enable protections per device to balance security and responsiveness.

Best for Busy Multi-Device Homes

Norton 360 Premium is a practical option for families or small offices that need unified malware protection, encrypted connections, and PC file backup across many devices. Consider enabling per-device protections and the VPN on public networks to reduce exposure during travel. Expect a measurable system footprint on lower-performance machines, which can require adjusting scan schedules or choosing which extra tools to enable per device.

Buyer beware.. not dependable, hijacks search engines to malware and then charges $99 to take the malware off. Beware of version 6. Pros: easy to install Cons: support

No real difference from other virus software; Buyer Beware on rebates. Just average; had it a few years. Time to change & check out another next year. Two years in a row the cd's bought retail did not work! buyer beware - on rebates; soon the turn around time between purchase and required mail-in postmark will be 24 hours. Pros: It has blocked a few trojan attacks; caught a few viruses Cons: Live Updates needs some help - sometimes you need to run this 12 or more times, repeatedly, for it to finally process.

Experience with Norton Antivirus. In most every instance where a PC has been running slowly or erratically, failing to automatically update or having other serious problems I have found Norton Antivirus to have been the culprit. I always remove it and install Microsoft Security Essentials or ANYTHING else. I've been in computer repair for 17 years and this is the most consistently faulty software I've ever seen.
